Lunch Price Increase for 19-20

We have been fortunate to not have had a lunch price increase since the 16-17 school year. For the 18-19 school year, we were granted an unusual exception due to our lunch account balance. Our lunch balance this year does not afford that same exception for the 19-20 school year. We are, unfortunately, required to raise lunch prices for next year. Please bear in mind that lunch price increases are dictated to us annually. That said, our student lunch price for next year has been set at $2.85. Adult lunch price will move to $3.50.

Part Time Faculty and Staff Tuition Discount

This week the school board approved a 25% tuition discount for part-time faculty and staff who work more than 20 hrs/week but less than 30 hrs/week.

New Teacher Resource Wakelet Page

I have created a new resource page in Wakelet where you can find all kinds of resources for things from SeeSaw, Differentiated learning, Flipgrid and more. Like the new school newsletter, you can follow that page and receive notifications when I publish new resources to that page. If there is stuff there you like, it might be helpful to copy it to a Wakelet page of your own for easier access. If nothing else, bookmark the page so you can find it later. In the meantime, you can go to www.wakelet.com/@SJEStaffResources.

I have copied a bunch from my personal collection here for you already. This will also be the place where the past staff newsletters will be that I will publish with Wakelet next year.

July School Board Meeting

Please note that the July school board meeting has been moved from July 16th to July 9th at the same location (Flatrock) and time (7pm)

Kindness Curriculum

The Kindness curriculum is on the agenda to discuss on June 3rd. I downloaded and shared with you the one from Character Strong (in shared folder and below). I also downloaded all of the Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) lesson for K-8 in that same folder. Below is also a 1 hour video overview of the curriculum. Please revie in advance of the June 3rd meeting.

Big picture

Please put the above date on your calendar for next year

Hoagland Days Parade

Yes, we are having a float this year in the parade. We will be discussing it at our May 15th meeting. We need to get as many details worked out as possible by then. I want faculty, staff and school families to walk with us wearing school shirts. The trailer is taken care of as of now. We decided to hand out school postcard, pencil, candy and wristband with "SJE" on it. Please be thinking about that and advertise in your newsletters that we want families to walk. I will do the same.
