NCVPS ESPAÑOL 3
WEEK 6, JULY 23 - 27
WITH SRA. BEVERLY AGUIRRE
Week 6
We are starting Week 6! Students should be staying on pace with the class! Please encourage students to work continuously to get everything completed. They can work ahead! (After this week, we have two more units to cover-Units 7 & 8.)
Students have a Final Exam and Final Project that are due by Friday, August 10 @ 11:55pm.
This week's unit is about Sports and Leisure activities! The 12 assignments below are due this Friday, July 27 @ 11:55pm! This includes a project for Units 5/6. Projects count 15% of a student's grade and it is essential that students complete their projects to help their grades.
Required Live Classes (RLCs)
Students have 5 opportunities to attend an RLC for Unit 6/7 this week and 1 opportunity next week. I will be teaching my RLC tonight @ 8pm.
The end is quickly approaching!
Below is information about the end of our class. I will be putting this info in an announcement for students tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24. Please let me know if you have any questions or if your student needs help.
- The last day to submit classwork is Friday, August 10 when the class closes. .
- This means that you have 2 more projects to complete: Units 5/6 this week (Friday, July 27), Units 7/8 which will be included/combined in the Final Project-more to come next week about U7/8 project.
- You also have a FINAL EXAM and FINAL PROJECT due on Friday, August 10 @ 11:55pm.

How are grades calculated?
Culture Cafe sessions
One of the assignments students must complete for our course is to attend one Culture Cafe session. The session can be about any country. It does not have to be about a Spanish speaking country. Students have 3 opportunites to attend a Culture Cafe this week. Encourage your student to attend!
Does your student need help?
Students are required to attend Required Live Classes throughout the course which is a virtual classroom environment that allows for complete interaction with the teacher and other students. As such, questions are often answered in these sessions. However, if/when a student needs additional help, he/she should first ask me, the teacher. If I'm not available and it's a quick question, he/should should take advantage of the NCVPS Peer Tutoring Center. If more serious content tutoring/remediation is needed, the student/s can request one-on-one tutoring with me and/or a peer tutor. If a student is weary, nervous, and/or conscientious about taking the class online, he/she can request a Virtual Buddy from the NCVPS Peer Tutoring Center for moral support, technical assistance, and more.
Communication is vital!
It's extremely important that you, as the parent and ELA, remind your students to communicate with me, as well as for you to contact me/us yourself. The team between schools/ELAs, parents, students and NCVPS teachers works best when all are on the same page and have effective communication. The best way for ELAs/parents to contact me is via email at beverly.aguirre@ncpublicschools.gov or by phone/text at (336) 242-8088. I appreciate your support!
