Track Assignment Update
WCPSS is continuing to work on the implementation of the new K-3 class size requirements. Year-round school have been informed that track assignments will not be available until late April.
Frogapalooza
Thank you to everyone who helped make Frogapalooza a great success this year! We had many wonderful volunteers who made a huge difference and we are truly thankful for all of them! We also thank those of you who came and participated in our auctions, raffles, and activities. We hope you had as much fun as we did!
With all of your support, we were able to raise over $14,500 for Turner Creek Elementary!
The PTA would also like to send our thanks to our music teacher, Mary Michael, and art teacher, Lisa Turco, who both worked incredibly hard to make this event successful. Last, we had many wonderful community sponsors for this event. Their generous donations make our auctions and raffles a huge success! Our bigger sponsors/donors this year included: Bovenizer & Baker Orthodontics, Altherr Orthodontics, CraziBrain, and LuLaRoe Charise Johnson.
Raffle Items and Class Baskets
Thank you to everyone who participated in the basket and kid raffles!! The winners have been notified about times to pick up your prizes. Remember that we can’t send the prizes home with students, parents have to sign for them. Thanks again for your participation and congratulations to all the winners!
Frogapalooza Teacher Time Raffle Sales
The winners have been drawn! If your child has won, the staff member that they won for will notify you and/or your child. Thank you for participating!
PTA Painting Day
We need a few hours of your time Saturday, April 14 at 9:00 am! The PTA and the TCE school staff are requesting volunteers to help paint the Media Center to make our children’s environment more inviting. With many hands, the painting should only take a few hours. There have been many changes to make our school a more warm and welcoming learning environment for all the Turner Creek Elementary students and your help
painting will help us continue with this effort! THANK YOU!
Unfortunately, children are not able to help or be present
on campus during this event.
Art Update
Turner Creek will again be represented in this year's Kaleidoscope 2018, an annual art show for Cary and Apex students.
The show will be held at Cary Towne Center Mall, during mall hours, from April 9 (set up date) until April 23 (tear down).
Track 4 students, with work selected for the show, were sent home announcements prior to track out. Tracks 1-3 will receive their announcements the week of April 2.

The Turner Creek Staff would like to send a big Thank you to the Bennett Family and their food truck, Hot Chix, for serving us lunch on Thursday, March 29. The food was great and it was such a treat to be able to experience their food truck first hand!
SAVE THE DATE:
Turner Creek Elementary will be sponsoring a School Spirit Skate event on Saturday, May 5 at the Cary JELLY BEANS Skate Center, 1120 Buck Jones Road. The "Private Skate" session is 5:15 PM to 7:00 PM. Turner Creek families pay only $4 to participate, and that price includes quad skate rentals! (In-line skate rental is $1 more.)
+++ PLUS+++ as long as you arrive by 6:30 PM, you'll be able to continue the fun and skate right into the next session! TCE skaters are invited to skate for free during the "Family Skate" session that follows, 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. That's over 4 hours of TV-Turned-Off FUN for just $4!
Spotlight on PTA –
Position: Teacher Luncheon Chairs
Looking for a way to show how much we love and appreciate our teachers? The teacher luncheon chairperson(s) organizes lunches for all TCE staff on every early release day and one staff in-service day in July. The chairperson plans a total of 4 lunches and 4 snacks throughout the year. The position requires working with local restaurants to ask for donations and/or discounts. The chairperson will also create a signup genius to ask TCE parents for donations to go along with the lunch. There is also a budget given by the PTA. On the day of the lunch or snack, the chairperson sets up all the food, stays to help serve, and cleans up at the end of lunch. On the actual early release day, the time required is from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. In addition, the preparation time required for each early release lunch is about 3 hours. This is a wonderful position that is very much appreciated by all teachers and staff. Ideally, this is a position shared among 2-3 persons. Kindergarten Registration has started!
January 4 was the start of Kindergarten registration for the 2018-2019 school year.
We are accepting registrations Monday – Friday from 9:30 – 2:00. The packet can be found on our website, bring that along with a proof address (power bill, gas bill or water bill), child’s birth certificate, photo ID for parent and the most current shot record to the Main Office during the designated times.
Box Tops and Tyson A+ Labels
Help Us Raise Money for TCE!
We just earned $335 from Box Tops for Education! The next Box Tops submission date is November 1st. Please make sure they have valid dates (dated 11/1/2018 and beyond). The Box Tops collection bin is located in the TCE lobby across from the main office.
Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school buy what it needs. Box Tops are each worth 10¢ and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. Here is a link showing participating Box Tops products.
Clip Tyson Project A+ labels from participating Tyson® product packages and send them to school with your child. We’ll collect the labels and send them to Tyson Foods, and Tyson Foods will send our school a check. Each label is worth 24¢! Please drop your Tyson Project A+ labels in the Box Tops collection bin in the TCE lobby.
