Family Newsletter
August 2, 2020
Introduction
This newsletter is full of important information. I am trying to highlight the information that we are getting the most questions about.
Thank you to those families who were able to join the webinar or watch the webinar. I have put links to the webinars below as well as the Q & A page of questions from this week.
We are so excited to be nearing the start of school and we look forward to reconnecting with our students and families. I appreciate all that our staff is doing to make this year's online learning experience even better than last years.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns. I am here to support you and your family and I look forward to meeting you soon!

Stories for this week
Thanks for joining me for our reading today! I first story is a picutre book that is set to music and read by the author. The story features children who are viewing the world through their windows because they can't go outside yet. The second story is a continuation of our chapter book The One and Only Bob. I read a little over half of Chapter 2.

Learning Pods
It is not the school's or PTO's responsibility to assist families in the formation of learning pods. Our PTO will not be organizing outside resources regarding learning pods. They are volunteers that assist the district when it is requested. Our district has an incredible plan in place and I know that we will make this as smooth as possible for everyone.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our Robinson administrative team.
The PTO appreciates your understanding and patience as we continue to await further direction from KSD. We will be working with PTO and how they can support families and staff once we have all the information we need.
School Supplies
PTO is working with a school supply company, Bright SchoolKitz, to provide families an opportunity to purchase all of their school supplies with a click of a button. Once ordered, the supplies will be shipped directly to the student's address within 2-3 weeks. This option would allow families to purchase supplies without having to go into stores or find each item independently. We hope that you will find this service to be convenient and efficient. Please visit the website to view supplies and prices. www.schoolkitz.com
Visit our school webpage to view the list of supplies your child will need.
Free and Reduced Priced Meal Packets
Below are all the free and reduced priced meal forms that we would typically print and have at the schools for the new school year. Please click here to have the packet of information printed and mailed to your home. .Please note that all these forms may be emailed directly back to shanon.orelup@kirkwoodschools.org, may be dropped off at our front office, or may be mailed to:

KSD NOW- Nutrition on the Weekends- Enrollment for the 20-21 School Year
If you wish for your child(ren) to participate in the program, please complete the online form. Only one form is needed for all the school-aged children in your family, but please include information for each child on the form. Once your child is signed up, they will receive boxes of food each month of the school year or until you no longer wish to participate. KSD N.O.W. operates with a first come, first served model. If your form is received after the capacity has been reached, you will be placed on a waitlist.
If you have any questions or need a paper form, please contact program coordinator Emilie Lytton at ksdnow@kirkwoodschools.org. All inquiries will remain confidential.
If you have unmet food needs for your family, including older children, babies, or toddlers, please contact KirkCare at 314-965-0406 or dial 2-1-1 for referrals to food banks and social services in your area.
In order to receive support through KSD N.O.W. for the 2020- 21 school year, please complete the online registration at https://www.kirkwoodschools.org/KSDNOWRegistration.
