Melbourne Harp Music
Newsletter Winter 2013
It's cold outside!
But the music making just keeps on going! I hope you're staying warm through these wintry days and are feeling inspired to get out to some more concerts.
And if not then the music can come to you with the release of the two new CDs.
Keep reading for all the details and I look forward to seeing you at a concert soon!

Miscellany for Flute and Harp
At last- the debut CD of the Miscellany Ensemble! And it's a corker- with a wide variety of music featuring on this recording, from the well-known to the recently discovered.
Classical favourites such as the Arab Dance from the Nutcracker Suite, Gluck’s Dance of the Blessed Spirits and the Entr’acte from Carmen sit alongside contemporary Australian works from Colin Brumby and John Carmichael. Folk music is explored with variations on Greensleeves and Josef Molnar’s Phantasy on Themes of Japanese Folk Songs, which pushes both instruments to their limits.
A true miscellany for flute and harp!

Good things come in pairs
"Automne- changing colours of harp music' is a journey through the amazing kaleidoscope of harp repertoire.
This recording was my chance to explore this diversity of sound with every kind of composer from Bach to the current day. It's been a long time in the making so I'm really looking forward to sharing it with all of you!

The Queen's Music
The Convent Gallery
Montsalvat
Songs from the time of Marie Antoinette
Sarah Cole and I originally played this programme last year at Kinross Arts Centre and Cowes Uniting Church and are very happy to revisit it.
And as well as beautiful music we have some beautiful venues! On Sunday 30th June we'll be at The Convent Gallery in Daylesford, and on Sunday July 14th we'll perform in the gorgeous Upper Gallery at Montsalvat. It feels a little subversive to be performing a royalist programme on Bastille Day!
If you missed the programme last year then here's a chance to hear some very rarely performed music. 3MBS will be recording the Montsalvat concert for later radio broadcast so it would be lovely to have a full house making appropriate sounds at appropriate places!
