Colors for Caring - Monday
Cancer affects millions of people each year, and at Mansfield ISD, we are wanting each person affected to know that they do not stand alone. MISD started its Colors for Caring initiative to visibly show community support for a loved one who is battling or has battled cancer.
On the first Monday of each month in the 2016-17 school year, Mansfield ISD is encouraging the community to wear a color that represents a cancer that affected the life of a loved one. (View a cancer color chart here.)
Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas was very grateful for the support he received during his bout with thymoma cancer so he wants to continue to spread the love and encouragement through the Colors for Caring initiative implemented last school year.

Box Tops for Education
WBE participates in Box Tops for Education. How can you help? Clip the Box Top from hundreds of participating products and send them to school. Each one is worth 10¢ when the school redeems them from Box Tops for Education.
Box Tops are collected throughout the year – so bring them! But, we will do special counts throughout the year for prizes!
First count date: October 7th – the person in each grade level that has the MOST box tops will receive a wrist band ( can be used for games, bounce houses, and more!) and coupons for the Fall Festival! (Any box tops dropped off after October 7th will be counted for the January Prize).
If your child wants to participate in the contest for the most box tops for each grade level he/she must:
- Clip box tops to fit into a plastic zip lock bag/large envelope
- LABEL the bag/envelope with CHILD’S NAME, GRADE, TEACHER
- Drop off the labels with their teacher or drop off box tops in the designated Box Tops Box in the main office.
To learn more, visit boxtops4education.com-and thanks for choosing to make a difference for our school with Box Tops!
