BMES Family Weekly Update
Week of January 24-28, 2022
Message from Principal Wagner
January 23, 2022
Good evening BMES families,
This is Mrs. Wagner with a weekly update. This week is Kindness Week for our students to participate in a celebration with spirit days. We can’t wait to celebrate with them based on the days outlined below.
In addition to kindness week, I recognize that the recent YCSD announcement on Friday regarding masking in our schools might not align to individual beliefs. I ask that we work together as a community to ensure a safe learning environment for our children. The teachers and staff at Bethel Manor are dedicated to providing a healthy learning environment that remains committed to in-person learning for our students and staff. Please defer any questions about the mask mandates to administration rather than your child’s teacher. The teacher’s priority is providing our students with the highest quality education possible.
I appreciate your support as we navigate this pandemic together.
Have a great evening,
Mrs. Wagner

Free Tutoring
As part of the division's efforts to address unfinished learning in accordance with the ARP Act ESSER III funds, the York County School Division has partnered with FEV Tutor to provide students in grades 3-12 with free, 1:1 online tutoring. In addition to supporting coursework and homework in core subjects such as math, English/Language Arts, science and social studies, FEV Tutor offers support for Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses.
Along with the on-demand support, FEV Tutor also offers weekly sessions between 7 and 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends so families can select the times that work best for their schedule. To get started with e-tutoring, students should log in to Clever and locate the FEV Tutor app icon to get started. They can then schedule sessions and access live help at any time of the day.
While all support is live and personalized to each student's classes and needs, the program does not involve device cameras or microphones - instead all interactions involve a whiteboard and chat feature. Students will be able to share their screens and upload documents to review with tutors, and tutors only have access to student work provided by the individual student. Once a student is signed up for weekly sessions, FEV Tutor may periodically email families and students (aged 13 and older).
