The Weekly Update
Week of 9/25/23
Good morning, all!
I hope you had a restful weekend! We took a quick trip to the Monterey area, and of course, had to stop by the aquarium with the kids! It was so fun to see their sense of wonder, especially my youngest, since the last time we went she was napping in the stroller. I can hardly believe we are in the last week of September, but I was so excited to put on a sweatshirt this morning!
Please read over the information below carefully, and as always, let me know if you have any questions.
Dates to Remember/Things to Do:
- This Friday, Sept 29 - LP2 work sample due (language arts for TK-8th)
- This Friday, Sept 29- course add/drop deadline (high school only)

LP2 Work Sample
Our LP2 work sample is due THIS FRIDAY! Subject is Language Arts for TK-8th. Student writing of some sort is preferred for this subject. Texting me a screenshot or emailing a pdf, whatever's easiest for you is totally fine. Please make sure the following are included on the work sample:
- Student first and last name (they must write their own name- for TK/K, you may write their last name)
- Date the assignment was completed (Between 9/15/23 and 10/13/23- please make sure it's a school day- Saturdays, Sundays and any holidays won't be accepted)
- Subject (Language Arts this time)
- A grade from you (TK-3rd grade can be a star or happy face, 4th-12th grade must be a percentage, letter grade, or ratio)
*Remember, this must be a sample of student's best work!
LP2 Meetings
Please don't stress about this! Reading was one of my favorite things to teach in the classroom, and it's always a magical experience for me to watch them grow, to see the lightbulb go on, to feel accomplished, and fall in love with reading.
Please have your student choose what they would like to read to me before our LP meeting so we don't lose any time trying to choose!
