SLMS Titan News
Closing out the Week of November 28, 2022
Titans,
We were all happy to see our Titans back from our Thanksgiving break. I hope you were able to connect with loved ones and to reflect on gratitude and thankfulness. We appreciate our Titan family and I am grateful to have joined our strong community.
We now have two weeks until Winter Break. We are wrapping up the fall semester and many of our programs are able to showcase the great things taking place. Our Titans are talented, focused, and dedicated. Please come out to enjoy a game, concert, show, or any other activity our Titans participate in.
This is the time to have your students show you their current grades and attendance. Talk to your students about missing assignments, absences, and tardies. It truly takes us all to make sure our Titans are successful.
Sincerely,
Dr. Latoya Garrett
Principal

K-8 Child Identification Kits -Going home on Monday, Dec. 5th
Dear Parent,
Our district will be distributing an in-home child identification kit to your child on behalf of the State of Texas. Please understand that there is a no obligation to fill out the kit, but it will allow you to have a set of fingerprints and DNA for your child in case of an emergency that you can turn over to law enforcement.
These kits are to be STORED AT HOME and only to be given to law enforcement in case of an emergency. As the Superintendent of this district I am always looking for ways to protect our students from harm or assist in their safety.
Please make use of this gift, fill it out and store it in a safe place at home.
Sincerely,
Dr. Whitbeck
