What's Happening...
This morning Dr. Branco shared an update in regards to the TPS Remote Learning Plan. His email can be found below as well. The School Counseling department shared a self-care tips video for students to stay safe and healthy during this time, click here to view it. We have started to post a question of the day for students on the THS Instagram story and will continue to find creative ways to keep students connected.
Multiple parents have reached out in regards to end of the year events for the Class of 2020. At this time no changes have taken place as we are hopeful for a return to school in May. Plans are being discussed for when and what these events will look like if we are unable to hold them as scheduled.
We encourage you to reach out through email to administrators or school counselors with any questions, concerns, comments or any other reason. School nurses are also available if there are any questions on health concerns.

TPS Remote Learning Plan Update
Good morning TPS community,
I am writing to provide an update on the District’s plan to continue to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students during this extended closure. Over the past few weeks, teams of TPS administrators and teachers have collaborated to develop a remote learning plan that will help us shift towards providing our students with a more structured and academically focused model of support. It is important for us to recognize that first and foremost, we are in the midst of a health crisis which has and will continue to impact those near and far in ways that we do not yet fully understand. Additionally, this health crisis and extended closure has and will continue to impact our ability to support and educate our students, and requires us to remain flexible and creative in our approach. With that said, we believe that it is necessary to do what we can to provide continuity of learning to the extent possible for all of our students.
Attached you will find the TPS Remote Learning Plan Spring 2020 Community Overview. This plan provides the rationale for making a shift in how we are supporting students at home, as well as the overall format that will be followed. The plan also includes specific information regarding special education, 504, and related services; feedback and grades; and our expectations for positive digital citizenship and confidentiality.
While we will begin to implement this plan next week, please understand that our teachers have been and will continue to be participating in trainings and working collaboratively to become proficient in a variety of instructional and communication tools while also designing and developing lessons, activities, and assignments that are best suited for the online environment. As a result, there will be variations in how teachers roll out this new plan as they get comfortable with the many changes and challenges that come with teaching from home. Over time, we will no doubt become more calibrated in our practices.
We very much miss seeing your children in our schools and hope that we will be able to see and hear from as many as possible online over the upcoming weeks. On behalf of the entire District, I hope that you and your families remain healthy and positive during these difficult times.
Sincerely,
Mark W. Branco, Ed.D.
