Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
If you haven’t heard the news yet - Loveland City School District has earned all five-star rankings on the Ohio School Report Card! Out of more than 600 districts in the state, only twelve had perfect scores. That means Loveland City School District is tied for #1 in Ohio! This is an accomplishment for our entire Loveland City Schools community. Our students work very hard, with fantastic support from their families and our staff. It’s through that partnership that we all accomplish great things together. I can’t tell you how proud I am of our students and staff for all of their hard work!
The School Report Card measures several categories: Achievement, Early Literacy, Gap Closing, Graduation Rate, and Progress. Follow this link, and search for “Loveland” to learn more about Loveland’s Ohio School Report Card results. You can learn more about the Ohio School Report Card and how to interpret results by following this link.
When you dig deeper into the numbers, our story is even better. Of the 12 districts in Ohio to achieve the five-star rating, our district does it with less revenue per pupil than almost any other district. Loveland ranks second lowest in revenue per pupil. Of the 607 school districts across Ohio, Loveland is in the bottom 7% for the lowest revenue per pupil. That means we are accomplishing great things for our students while bringing in less money per student than 93% of the 607 districts.
Two goals of our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision are student success and fiscal responsibility. Being able to achieve at a high level while keeping a close eye on the bottom line is evidence that we deliver a great educational value for our community.
Our students work incredibly hard, with fantastic support from their families. Our staff members bring their best to school every day for students. Volunteers invest in our kids, and business owners work with us to create fantastic learning opportunities. This truly is a community accomplishment. Thank you for your continuing support of our Loveland City School District.
Go Tigers!

Board Approves Levy Resolution
Loveland City School District has a 4.9 mill operating levy before voters on November 8. The levy will provide funding to accomplish three main goals - maintain current operations, restore high school busing, and hire up to 5 new certified employees over the next three years if needed.
To further establish trust and transparency with our community, the Board of Education unanimously passed a resolution to account for the new levy funds. Here is the language of the resolution:
WHEREAS, the Loveland Board of Education (Board) has placed a continuing 4.9 mil operating levy on the ballot for November 8th, 2022;
AND WHEREAS, the Board endeavors to provide assurance to the community about the purpose for which certain funds will be utilized;
AND WHEREAS, funds may not be able to be used for their intended purpose either by timing, need or a lack of personnel as intended;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board hereby directs the treasurer and superintendent to identify funds not yet committed to the purpose for which they are intended and account for these monies in a manner that easily provides transparency until such time, as directed by action of this Board, it determines these set-asides are to be utilized.
You can watch the discussion around the resolution by following this link and going to the one-hour, forty-two-minute mark of the Board meeting. If you have questions about the resolution, you can reach out to our Board members by emailing board@lovelandschools.org.

Loveland Secures $100,000 Safety Grant
The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission has awarded Loveland City School District a $100,000 grant to help offset the cost of a new public address system in the Loveland Primary School and Loveland Elementary School campus. The existing system needed replacement. Installation of the new system is already underway and should be completed in October. PA systems are an essential component of school safety, as they allow notifications of every classroom in the building in case of emergency.
Fiscal Responsibility is one of the goals of our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision, and the district leadership team seeks out diverse funding sources to help improve our educational environments.
