We talked about different characteristics in these books. | Winter Gear Just a quick reminder to make sure your child is bringing all of his/her's winter gear to school with them. If possible, make sure boots, mittens, etc are labeled. Thanks! | I LOVE TO READ MONTH! February is "I Love to Read" month. I sent home an email in regards to our class "book bingo," and our school wide "I love to read month" challenge. If students complete by the end of the month, they will receive a prize. Let me know if you have any questions. |

Book Bags
Not all of the books are high quality and some of the levels may be a little off so feel free to help your child as he/she needs it, however, always have them attempt first.
I have included a letter in your child's book bag with some strategies on helping them navigate through books and how to read them.
What did we learn this week?
Writing: I continued modeling how to write two sentences with two pictures and how to give details to your story. We also began writing "book reviews" and talking about what an opinion is and how to express it.
Phonics: We learned "Little Jack Horner" and the students found rhyming and HFW. We continued to work on Consonant, Vowel, Consonant words (CVC words). We also began working on the digraphs, ch, th, sh.
Math: This week we finished working on our "teen numbers" and writing them.
