From the desk of Natalie Kijurna:
Hello!
It's April 26, 2019, the 116th day of the year. There are 249 days left!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful April! I've been seeing flowers blooming everywhere, so I can't wait to get my yard work done in order to see what new and veteran flowers and plants I have "springing" up everywhere. While I love the look of my yard when it's been spruced up for the spring and summer, I have to admit that it takes me a while to get motivated to jump out there and do it. Because, like everything else, you think it's going to take only three or four hours, but lo and behold you're still out there bagging yard waste when the street lights come on.
Getting your resume and cover letter ready to be presented to employers can be a similar experience. You think you'll take an hour or so, update your resume, write a cover letter and wa-lah! You're all done. Unfortunately, if you want a thoughtful resume and cover letter (yes - you really do) specifically focused on the job for which you're applying, it generally will take much longer to complete the task. However, never fear, the absolute upside of a tortuous two or more hours of making sure everything looks top notch on your resume and cover letter is not only your own self-satisfaction for creating a professional product, but an employer who will note your attention to detail as well.
With that being said, please take a look at this week's opportunities below but also remember to go to www.ccr.edu. Click on Resources>Alumni/Employers and take a look at some of our Employer Colleagues! Each of these employers are interested in hiring. So, give them a call!
Questions? Please let me know. Remember, I'm here to help in any way I can whether it's providing resume/cover letter edits, interviewing tips, or job search guidance. Always feel free to give me a call or send an email.
Slainte Mhath!

3. Transcriptionists, Cadence Translate, remote
Please see email below:
I have been doing freelance transcription and corporate "near-real-time" live event transcription for the past 20 years. Currently, I am the head of transcription for Cadence Translate. We provide translators/interpreters and transcripts for the financial services and investment research sector. I have a staff of 30 transcribers around the world and we provide documentation for about 400-500 hours of interactions per month. We are also looking to expand our real-time product offerings to eventually include live caption streaming for interpreted sessions -- there will be more than transcription opportunities eventually.
I am currently hiring freelancers to transcribe for us...if you are able to post a job listing somewhere, I would be very appreciative! Ideally, we would like those people who are very sophisticated with language, mechanics, usage, have an ear for accents, and who have research skills.
You can refer anyone who is interested to our careers page here: https://www.cadencetranslate.com/careers where they can read about the opportunity and click to submit an application. Please have anyone interested indicate that they are a CCR referral!
Our rates start at $1/minute, work is available 24 hours/day, and we pay weekly.
Thank you so much for your kind consideration, and I appreciate any referrals you can send my way!

6. Court Reporters, A+ Court Reporting and Video, Roanoke, VA
Please see email below. NOTE: Contact Sherrie directly for more information.
I was contacting you to let you know of court reporter opportunities here in Roanoke, Virginia. Roanoke, like many places is under served in regards to stenographers. Most of the court reporters here are over 50 years, many getting towards retirement age and would like to slow down. The reason that A+ Court Reporting and Video remain in this business is because of the court reporters. All court reporters that we work with are fun great people that work well together and are independent contractors.
After living in Roanoke for 21 years, I am a bit biased and believe that Roanoke is a great place to live. I run into people all the time who have no family here but after stopping in Roanoke and researching the area decided that it was a good place to work, raise kids, or retire.
Regards,
Sherrie
