A Principal's Perspective
Wow! What a busy week! I know that this is a busy, busy weekend as well!
The weeks are going to get busier, hectic, stressful and yes fun with all of the spring and end of the year activities. In thinking about this week, it provides a good reminder to keep my focus on the kids. Keeping our focus on our students - our why- will help us through behavior issues, many changes to the schedule, difficult parent conferences, field trip logistics, testing, celebrations, etc. Maintaining student connections through strategies such as 2 Minute Connections and Circle will help us stay the relationship course building upon what we have been working on all year. Remembering our why, our students, will help us navigate as a staff the end of the year successfully.
Be innovative - Design the possibilities!

News & Notes
- Lunch Lounge Wednesday: There are many benefits to a family eating together. As a school family, when we take the time to eat together it builds a positive school culture. We get to know each other outside of the classroom. Lunch Lounge Wednesday is a great way to visit, connect, de-stress and even laugh while eating lunch. This is a day to wear jeans AND a GP school shirt if you eat in the teacher's lounge on Lunch Lounge Wednesdays. Positive work environment, strong school family and jeans! Win-Win-Win!
- VIPS Luncheon: Our VIPS Luncheon is on Wednesday, April 17th, from 11:00 - 1:00 in the Science Lab. We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteers and this is a great way to show them our appreciation. Each team received a sign-up sheet of what to bring to the luncheon. Think big servings! All staff are invited to the luncheon as well. Please make our guests feel welcome by sitting, eating and visiting with them. Enjoy the VIPS celebration!

Mustang Yee Haws!
Wendel McRaven is with Randy Seagraves and Texas A&M Track & Field.
Shout out to Zephyr Seagraves for taking the first Aggie individual win on the track at the EB Cushing Stadium on Saturday night! After Zeph ran 9:02 at the Texas Relays the previous week I was initially reluctant to run him in the steeple again, but he was persistent in his desire to race his main event in the first meet at our new stadium. Well, the College Station native and CSHS Cougar got his wish and took the win in 9:03.01 and is the current EB Cushing track record holder! Sub-9 is just around the corner! The district has outlined a campus sub incentive plan to hopefully decrease the sub demand across the district. Please see proposed plan below. The plan will begin in January
Each month, campuses will have an opportunity to earn $1,000 for the highest rate of staff attendance
Sick leave and district required activities are excluded
There will be a winner for both Elementary (PK-4) and Secondary (5-12) each month
Campus staff will have input on how to use the money - get creative!
