What is happening in RM 16?
Week of October 23rd
In last weeks news....
Coming up this week...
Reading:
We will be performing our reader's theater, Our New Home next week (probably Wednesday) for our buddies. Your child has their script in their binders. Please make sure they practice for you a few times. Remind them to read smoothly and with expression. :)
We will be learning how to recognize a sequence in our books. Recognizing sequence can help readers follow directions, learn steps in a new process, or understand how events unfold over time.
Writing:
We will be writing realistic fiction stories for the next couple weeks.
Your child has a new word list in their binder this week. For this first week, we will be focusing on the patterns and spelling and next week we will use the words in context.
Math:
Focus Skill: Using a variety of models and manipulatives to solve multiplication tables of 6,7,8, and 9.
Multiplication Games:
PRODIGY is a great way for your students to practice math concepts in a fun way! They have their login information inside of their binders.
THINK CENTRAL give you access to virtual manipulatives, videos, and the workbook pages.
Science:
We are having a lot of fun learning...
How sound is made, how sound travels, how sounds are different and how sound travels through our ears.
