It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Reminders
*If you are changing your child's transportation, you must send a note with a parent signature to your child's teacher or the front office.
*There are no early dismissals for students after 2:45 p.m. If it is after 2:45 p.m., you will need to wait until they are dismissed as usual.
*All visitors on our campus, at any time of day and for any length of time, must check in at the front office and receive a badge. This is a safety concern. Even if we know who you are, please follow the standard procedure.
Holiday Collection
Each year during the holiday season, our community collects monetary donations as a gift of appreciation for our wonderful custodians, cafeteria workers, and crossing guards. Their dedication, hard work, and pride is displayed daily as they work hard to keep our students and families safe, our school tidy and clean, and our children fed and full.
If you would like to make their holiday merry and bright, please place your cash donation in an envelope clearly labeled Holiday Collection, along with your student(s) name and grade. You may send your donation envelope in with your child or place it in the jar located at the front office desk.
Thank you for your continued support. Please send all donations by Tuesday, December 12th. The gifts will be presented during the Sing-Alongs on December 15th.

Spelling Bee
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Parents:
Meadow Wood is participating in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. It is a great opportunity for our students to increase their vocabulary and hone their spelling skills. We are confident that they are ready for the challenge!
Students were provided with a grade specific word list in early November. Students have been preparing for the classroom spelling bees which will be held on Monday, December 4th. The top 2 students from each class will qualify for the MWE Spelling Bee to be held on Friday, January 5, 2018. The winner of the MWE Spelling Bee will advance to the SBISD Spelling Bee held on February 21, 2018.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Taylor at Kay.Taylor@springbranchisd.com. We want to thank Ms. Leigh Ann Brooks for her help as the Parent Coordinator of the Spelling Bee!
International Festival and Family Fun Night
On Tuesday, 23 January 2018 Meadow Wood Elementary will host its International Festival and Family Fun Night. This wonderful event is a celebration of our school's rich cultural diversity. It provides an opportunity for students and families to both share and learn about the cultures and customs of various countries.
During the event, students will be issued passports and be able to visit booths where they can sample food and learn about a country's language, history, geographical location, flag and much more. There will also be games and fun filled activities that are sure to delight everyone.
To make this event a success we need your help. We are inviting parents to showcase a country of their choosing. If you are interested in doing so, please contact Keisha Barnes at ksbarnes@gmail.com.
