IF you prepaid for pictures when we took them in the fall, 6th graders can come by on Thursday 1/28 to pick their order up. Just give a call into the office when you arrive on campus, (828.255.1380), and someone will be right out to deliver them to you. If you’d like for us to just hold on to them until students are back in the school building we’re happy to do that as well.

We are currently reading the novel "Blood on the River". This is a historical fiction novel based on the settlement of Jamestown in 1607. We are working on the following standards: RL 6.1 Explain what and how textual evidence supports a claim. RL 6.3 Analyze how Smith and Hunt’s influence on Samuel results in Samuel protecting Jamestown and its settlers. This is an exciting book about the beginnings of settlements by the English. Please ask your child what's happened so far in the book!

We are currently studying Ancient Egypt. This is an exciting unit with lots of information on mummies, pyramids, and daily life among the social classes in Egypt.
