RETURN TO FULL IN-PERSON LEARNING
Students whose families have selected Choice Remote learning will remain remote.
Free meals will continue to be provided daily to all students while attending in person through the end of the school year. No pre-order or advance notice is needed for these meals. Families whose students remain in the remote learning model will continue to be able to obtain free weekly meal kits that will continue to be ordered through our menu website.
Students and staff will continue to follow all COVID-19 mitigating actions, including masking, physical distancing – wherever possible, and handwashing. We will continue to work with JCHE, KSDE, and KDHE officials to implement all measures necessary to keep students and staff safe.
As a reminder, should there be an increase in positive cases of COVID-19, schools may need to return to a remote learning environment. This could be due to a shortage of substitutes, clusters of cases in one building, etc.

UPCOMING SURVEY FOR STUDENTS
Pioneer Ridge Families:
I’m pleased to share with you that the week of March 22 students in grades 5-8 will be taking a survey through Panorama Education at school. Panorama surveys promote a positive school climate by collecting valid and reliable feedback about what matters most-from belonging and teacher-student relationships to engagement and school safety. In addition, the survey results are used to meet the Kansas State Department of Education’s requirement of student data growth measurement in social emotional areas. Students will be provided a link and the data is secured and available only to selected USD 231 personnel.
The survey is voluntary and your student can skip any question or choose not to participate. If you would like your child to opt out of the survey, please email Mr. McIntire at mcintirejc@usd231.com.
Thank you,
John McIntire, Principal
