Elevating Excellence in Academics, Character & Community
Edition 30 - Week of 5/11/2020
Leadership Corner
We are so very fortunate at New Vision Charter School, to truly have the best teachers. They consistently go above and beyond to meet the needs of every child and do everything they can to ensure that students are successful. Words cannot express the extreme gratitude and appreciation for all they do.
This week has been Teacher Appreciation Week, and in addition to thanking our teachers for their incredible efforts in these unprecedented times, we wanted to take the opportunity to extend our gratitude to you. In normal times, we can’t do what we do without you. In these extraordinary times, you are even more essential.
We recognize it isn’t easy; our families are stressed and stretched in so many ways. If you were a first-year teacher in one of our schools, we would tell you to lean on your colleagues, ask for the help you need, and give yourself grace. In these times, we are your colleagues, and more importantly, we are on your team. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to share your struggles and celebrate your successes. We are truly in this together.
Thank you for all you are doing for your students at home.

Middle School Counselor Corner
I sure have missed seeing your kids every day! I think the hustle and bustle of the school day is definitely missed by us all. I hope your kids have settled well into online learning by now. I know that being at home takes its toll on our well-being and may cause some feelings of isolation in some. I wanted to provide a resource for you that could be beneficial to helping your kids cope with stress, sad feelings. It also will help them identify when to reach out to an adult for help or to talk. I feel it would be very useful for the kids and even better if you choose to watch it together with them in the hopes that they'll open up about any feelings they might be having. It is a short video and developed in Larimer County, Colorado.

Here is their website if interested in seeing what else they have to offer: https://allianceforsuicideprevention.org/prevent-suicide/).
Please also know that I continue to be here for your kids. We can talk via phone, video chat, or email. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with along the way.
