water cycle
what we found
what we found
when we where experimenting the water cycle we observed four parts. They were: evaporaiton, condensation, precipitation, and run off. So when you read my writing remember to listen for all of the water cycle you can learn new things about water
look! precipitation is happening!!!
precipitation is when water goes up into the clouds and when the cloud can not hold more water it starts to drop and starts to rain that is what precipitation is. In addition, there are many types of precipitation such as rain, snow, hail, freezing rain, and sleet. does precipitation sound cool for you?
amazing! condensation looks beautiful!!!
"Condensation is the change of water from its gaseous form (water vapor) into liquid water. Condensation generally occurs in the atmosphere when warm air rises, cools and looses its capacity to hold water vapor. As a result, excess water vapor condenses to form cloud droplets. The upward motions that generate clouds can be produced by convection in unstable air, convergence associated with cyclones, lifting of air by fronts and lifting over elevated topography such as mountains."
Look! Water is turning to gas! It's evaparation!!!
"Heat (energy) is necessary for evaporation to occur. Energy is used to break the bonds that hold water molecules together, which is why water easily evaporates at the boiling point (212° F, 100° C) but evaporates much more slowly at the freezing point. Net evaporation occurs when the rate of evaporation exceeds the rate of condensation. A state of saturation exists when these two process rates are equal, at which point the relative humidity of the air is 100 percent. Condensation, the opposite of evaporation, occurs when saturated air is cooled below the dew point (the temperature to which air must be cooled at a constant pressure for it to become fully saturated with water), such as on the outside of a glass of ice water. In fact, the process of evaporation removes heat from the environment, which is why water evaporating from your skin cools you."
wow! the water is going back to the ocean!!!
when you see water going back to the ocean, lake, or river it is called a run off. In addition, when the water goes back to the ocean or lake the whole process starts all over again!!!!
