Lights, Camera, WECC!!!! Week of December 5th
Our Children all Need Great Teachers and Staff Like You
You once had a choice
And you chose to teach
And every day
It's our children you reach
You make the difference
In the life of each child
Those that are quiet
And those that are wild
It's the way that you teach
You do it so well
They look up to you
And think you are swell
You teach from your heart
That's plain to see
They think you're divine
And we all agree
Please never forget
And remember it's true
Our children all need
Great teachers like you
We appreciate you
And we value your time
And if you should forget
Please re-read this rhyme
The video below is for YOU- YOU are the ONE:
O - only YOU could impact our students
N - never giving up on OUR students
E - effectively working everyday to be the DIFFERENCE MAKER with our students

Small Group Instruction Feedback (CIP 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2)
While visiting your classrooms this week I have been seeing some nice improvements in our small group instructions. Here are the HOT TRENDS...
- Students are more engage, due to cohesive work partnerships. The students are working with each other more in small group because they are properly grouped and are working on the same level.
- VARIED ACTIVITIES OBSERVED!!!!!! The activities the students are completing are targeted to their specific needs and learning level. You will begin seeing students move faster because they are not frustrated or merely observing the work of their peers in small group instruction.
- Teachers are using more anecdotal notes to chart student progress and identify master of their skill.
- Students are more motivated to succeed because teachers are giving the student more authentic feedback and "mini" rewards for meeting small group learning expectations.
- INCREASES instructional checklist data!!!!
The Professional Development, trainings, collegial observation, consistent feedback, and teacher led demo sessions has brought consistent improvements to our small group work. Keep up the Good Work!!!

(Random Acts Holiday of Kindness (Week)
Over the next days before we leave for the Winter Break, I’d like to invite our entire school community to join the Wilmer Random Acts of Holiday Kindness Challenge. Why? Because we can all appreciate kindness, cheer and a little good will. We simply aspire to be the change we expect to see in the world.
How it works: Simply choose from the ideas below, or create your own! The goal is to intentionally perform a random act of kindness each day! Have fun…and spread cheer and good-will!
Complete a task for someone else.
Bring someone coffee
Write a hand written thank you card to someone
Smile at someone just because
Tell a funny story or joke to make someone laugh
Pay it forward (lunch, coffee, etc.)
Hold a door open for someone
Text a meaningful quote to someone who may need it
Pick an angel from an Angel Tree
Donate food to a food pantry
Compliment someone
Let someone into your lane
Let them have the parking space
Make 2 lunches and give one away
Bake a treat for someone at work
Let someone go ahead of you in line
