MAD SCIENTIST DAY
Instead of a Halloween Party, our class will have a Mad Scientist Day from 10:30 -2:00 on October 30th.
If you have any old men's dress shirts, or old, oversized T-Shirts to be used as lab coats, please send them in. We will be performing experiments and sharing what we learn about famous scientists.
I am asking that everyone send in $3.00 to help offset the cost of supplies. I also need parent volunteers on that day. Please let me know if you are available. You can call or text me at 256-603-4329.
IB Homes Projects
This week I am sending home the grading rubrics for the IB Homes Project and the Interview. Both of these are due next week on the 28th.
For the Interview, students are to Interview one person in their family about a favorite home they lived in from the past. A parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, etc. is preferred. A list of general questions is going home today. Students will take those questions and turn it into a paragraph or presentation for the class. We would love to see pictures too. Students may present this interview any way they wish to the class. They may simply read the paragraph and show the pictures. They could chose to do a PowerPoint with the information. They may want to use a poster board with their pictures and information.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

HomeWork
This week, we are working on memorizing those multiplication facts! Facts to know this week are the 2's (they are simply doubles facts the students already know as addition facts) and 5's ( the students already know how to count by 5s so this should be relatively easy).
Monday is spelling words five times each. Tuesday is ABC order. Wednesday is a paragraph with one of the vocabulary words.
