The Cloud Connection
Welcome to 4th Grade!
Dear Students and Families, August 20, 2013
Welcome to the start of what promises to be a great year of learning! I’m excited about all of the wonderful possibilities and activities that await us. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where children can be successful and I’m looking forward to working with your child.
Please look for a newsletter from me the first day of each week. I will let you know about upcoming events, homework due dates and things relative to our class using these weekly newsletters. For those of you who would like to keep in touch electronically I will send you the weekly newsletter via email. During the next few weeks I will be assessing your child's skills in the areas of reading, writing, spelling and math. Due to the Labor Day holiday we won’t have school on Monday, Sept.2nd. Our Open House night is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28th from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
I would like students to bring all of their supplies from the list on the back of this letter by Monday if possible. We'll have a community stash of pencils, glue, paper, etc. so students will have everything they need. Please let me know if you have a problem locating something on this list. I appreciate parents contributing crackers, pretzels, etc. to our stash of healthy snack goodies. By 10:30 students are often starving so we’ll try to keep snacks on hand to get them through the morning.
If you enjoy volunteering at school please fill out the application on the district webpage. I truly appreciate each and every one of you, and I know how much it means to the students to have parents in the classroom. I am always looking for parent help and can tailor my projects to fit your needs even if it means you need to help from home! Assistance is greatly appreciated during writing, reading, math, art and computer times.
If you need to get in touch with me I'm available at school from 8:00-8:20 and again from 3:30-4:00 or later. Feel free to call me at home if the need arises.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cloud
