Blaze Bulletin
Edition 7 Week of October 9th
Greetings...
Dear Teachers,
Have a very happy Fall Break and safe travels (if you are traveling).
Enjoy the week!
lj
GRADE REMINDER...
Teachers should enter an average of 2 grades per week. Each week the grades should be updated in iNow. This is the way students and parents can follow progress.
Posting Grades...
In case new teachers (or seasoned teachers!) need a reminder of how to post grades in iNOW & print verifications --

school-wide ACT SCHEDULED OCTOBER 17TH
Tuesday, October 17, the seniors will be taking the ACT and everyone else will be taking the practice ACT.
A schedule will come out after Fall Break.
C&I and Senior Awards
We feel that watching the senior awards will inspire our students so Coach McCreery recorded last year's Senior Awards Evening and has condensed it into a 29-minute video of the scholarships and Nathan Stephens Award.
This video will be shown during C&I on Monday, October 16. We are putting it near this first report card in hopes that you will use it as a tool for a discussion about scholarship and character with your C&I group sometime during the rest of the week.
We hope all students will remain in C&I and watch the video.
LITERACY STUDIES PH.D. PROGRAM MTSU
LITERACY STUDIES PH.D. PROGRAM
MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY
The Literacy Studies Ph.D. Program at Middle Tennessee State University is designed to address one of education’s most pressing needs – the shortage of scholars, practitioners, administrators and policy-makers equipped to bridge the gap between the rapidly expanding body of scientific research on the development of literacy and educational practice, policy, and professional preparation.
- Applicants with master’s degrees in education and relateddisciplines are eligible for admission.
- The Literacy Studies Ph.D. Program at MTSU is prepared to supply a limited number of graduate assistantships (GAships) to qualified applicants. Two types of assistantships are available: 20-hour and 10-hour GAships. The 20-hour GAship provides full tuition plus $14,000 per year as stipend and requires 20 hours of work for faculty’s teaching and research. The 10-hour GAship pays one-half of the tuition plus $7,000 per year as stipend and requires 10 hours of work for faculty’s teaching and research.
- Courses are available in the evenings and weekends to accommodate the typical professional work schedule.
- The priority deadline for application is February 1, 2018 for the 2018-2019 academic year. Applications are accepted up until June 1.
- Estimated time for completion:
Full-time: approx. 3-4 years
Part-time: approx. 5-6 years
