AIRWAY

open mouth-if foreign materials is present:

  • place in the recovery position
  • clear airway with fingers

BREATHING

check for breathing-look,listen and feel.

  • start CPR .place in recovery position
  • monitor injuries
  • manage injuries
  • treat for shock


CPR

start CPR-30 chest compression:2 breaths

continue CPR until help arrives or patient recovers.


DEFIBRILLATION

apply defibrillation if available and follow voice prompts

If you see a danger sign don't keep on going straight.If you do you might fall into a hole in the ground.

CHOKING

A person chokes when the airway is partly or totally blocked.Infant and small children love to put things in their mouths.Both toys and food may be responsible.Peanuts and hard sweets are especially dangerous for children under five.


If coughing doesn't remove the blockage call 000 (ambulance)


If unsuccessful,bend casualty well forward and give up to 5 sharp blows between the shoulder blades.Check to see if the obstruction has been relieved after each back blow.
