Teacher Workshop plus Parent Education Night
On Tuesday, January 17, our PTA brought in Executive Functioning Specialist Michael McCleod from GrowNow Therapy, for a teacher workshop attended by all the faculty and staff at WLES. The feedback for the workshop was outstanding. We heard about how valuable the training was and are excited to see it play out in our school! Our volunteers also picked up lunch as part of our Teacher Luncheon budget. Thank you for being part of PTA and supporting these valuable experiences for our staff!
In addition, Mr. McCleod gave a parent education presentation on the evening of 1/17 and we had a great turn-out! For more information, please see these this Google folder of resources that Mr. McCleod left for parents. We also received great feedback about the parent meeting and how it gave us a push in the right direction with our parenting!
Shoe Drive and Pop Tabs
Our shoe drive was supposed to wrap up 1/31, but we have heard that folks need a little more time to get those closets cleaned out. No worries! We will leave the tote outside the school building through Friday, February 3 for shoe drop-offs!
Please also keep collecting Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House! We love that our community is giving back to an organization that helps families when they really need support.
PTA Board nominations coming!
Have you ever thought about taking on a larger PTA role? We would love to have you! To get an idea of what we need help with, you can check out the PTA Board page. Some parents will be aging out, so we already know that we will need a Cultural Arts Representative, a Reflections Chair, and a VP or President next year. In addition, any of the chairs may need help via a committee. Reach out to westlakepta@gmail.com and come to the next PTA meeting!
