Cocaine is the second most trafficked illegal drug in the world. The most recent statistics show that international seizures of cocaine have continued to increase and now total 756 metric tons.

In the United States a national surgery showed that ages 18-25 used cocaine within the last year. Among high school students 8.5% of twelfth graders had used cocaine at some point in their young lives.

In the United States, cocaine continues to be the most frequently mentioned illegal drug reported to the Drug abuse warning network by emergency departments.

Cocaine affects the body in a variety of wats. It constricts blood vessels, dilates pupils, and increases body temperate, heart rate, and blood pressure. It can also cause headaches and gastrointestinal complications. Such as abdominal pain and nausea.

Cocaine tends to decrease appetite. People who use cocaine can suffer heart attacks or starches which may cause sudden death!

People who use cocaine also put themselves at risk for contracting HIVm even if they don't share needles or other drug paraphernalia. This is because cocaine intoxication impairs judgment and can lead to risky behavior.

Cocaine is more dangerous when combined with other drugs or alcohol. Combining cocaine and heroin is known as "speedball" and carries a high risk of fatal overdose.
