Fall 2015 Graduating Scholars!
Major: Elementary Education
Plans: Apply for a substitute teaching position in the Twin Cities area. Once I've received my license, I'll start applying for positions in the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin.
Mao Sea Lee
Plan after graduation: Right after graduation, I will spend a whole month traveling abroad to Thailand, Laos, and possibly Japan. After a month of escaping reality, I plan to continue applying for graduate schools and work. I plan to go to graduate school in the fall of 2014.
SSS and its significance to me: I was a caterpillar, but I wanted to fly. I traveled so far to pupate, and SSS was all of the nurture I received during the pupa stage. Without SSS, I would have developed only one wing. But because of the unconditional supports from SSS staff, I am now ready to fly with my colorful wings. I want SSS to know that regardless of the distance I fly, each time I open my wings to take off, I will remember SSS and its staff.
Major: Biomedical Science
Plans after graduation: I plan to look for full time employment in research while I continue MCF-7 research with Dr. Lyden on campus. I am going to take my GRE in the spring and apply to graduate schools next fall. I would like to eventually earn a PhD in a biology related discipline.
Short statement: Being a non-traditional student, it has been difficult for me to find support and resources on campus that fit my needs. SSS has given me support every step of the way from deciding my major to helping me move forward after graduation. No matter what tribulations I have encountered during my journey to earning my degree, my coach, Rose Rude, has encouraged me and given me support every step of the way. I would not have been nearly as successful without SSS!
Scholarships are now open! Don't forget to apply!!!
