Ask a Librarian
See the reference librarian in person at the Library Reference Desk for immediate service.
Phone us at: 805-378-1472
We will answer right away unless we are helping another student. If we don’t pick up, leave a message and we’ll call you back as soon as we can.
Email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Email us your reference question being as clear and specific as possible concerning your needs. Although reference librarians don’t do your research for you, they can suggest where and how to find information. It is often helpful to know why you are doing research: is it for a class, what is the assignment and other helpful information. Be sure to indicate any deadlines you have.
Who can use the email service?
Email reference help is available to Moorpark College faculty, staff, and students with email accounts.
When to expect a response?
Every attempt will be made to answer your question in 24 hours. If you send your email at 9am Tuesday morning, we’ll try to get back to you by 9am on Wednesday.
Please try to take the Library’s open and closed hours into account. We’re open M-TH 8am-8pm and Friday 8am - noon. If you email us on Thursday afternoon, we may not be able to get back to you until Monday. The same goes for emailing us on Friday morning. We may not be able to get back to you until late on Monday or early Tuesday.
Open Access Lab
On the first floor of the Moorpark College Library/Learning Resource Center is an Open Access computer lab. The lab is open during the hours the library is open and is equipped with 140 computer stations which have access to the Internet, Microsoft Office, and additional educational software packages for student use.
Computers for students are also available on the second and third floors of the Library/Learning Resource Center. A computer classroom on the second floor is open to students whenever it is not reserved for library orientations.
Although use of the computers is free, there is a $0.10 per page charge for printing. Print jobs are sent to print stations on the first and second floors of the Library/Learning Resource Center. Print jobs are listed by the name you entered when submitting the job. In order to activate the printer you must purchase a copy card for a one-time fee of $1.00. Cards can be purchased in the Open Access Lab or on the second floor in the Copier Room. Additional change or dollars may be added to a copy card to increase its balance.
Should you need assistance using these computers, please ask a staff member.
