Monday Memo
10-1-18
Great things!
The cooler weather found us and we enjoyed our time outside! I think the cool, fresh air did us all good!
Smile buddies have been at work over the past week-spreading smiles and cheer throughout the building!
Tornado drills were quick last week! Way to go everyone!
We have received a few donations already for Trunk or Treat. There must be some people eager to wear jeans Tuesday and Thursday!
There also have been several new students enrolling this past week. Make it a point to stop and greet them and welcome them to our school family when you see a new face.
Challenge: To go with our commitment for the week, let's continue with last week's challenge: try to say a noticing statement to one adult or student each day. Try saying: "you _____so that _____" . That was helpful!" EX: You held the door open so that your friend could walk past! That was helpful!"
Snack time!
Being helpful with our hand sanitizer.
Practicing "stay low and go" to stay under the smoke!

Nuts-n-Bolts:
* The next two week's announcements will be brought to you by Heather's class
*Our October faculty meeting will be flipped this month. This means you will not need to meet in the library at 8:00 this Wednesday. You will, however, need to view the flipped presentation that will be coming out by the end of the day Wednesday. You may watch it on your own time any time between when it is sent and the end of the day Wednesday.
* We are collecting items for our HGECC gift basket to be raffled off at the GEF Trivia Night again this year. This year's basket theme is: "Winter comfort items". We are looking for anything that you might find comforting on a chilly day: hot chocolate mix, mugs, a warm throw blanket, soup mixes, hot tea, etc. If you would like to donate-please drop your items off in my office. Anyone wishing to donate will receive a jeans coupon in return for you to use any day you wish before Christmas break.
* Back to Basics Challenge: If you complete three new challenges between now and the end of next week (Oct. 12) you will be entered in a drawing for a wireless mouse. You will just need to come show me your completion status. I have three mice to give away =) Game on!
* A friendly reminder to be mindful of your contracted day. As we are getting a little further into the year, I am noticing more people arriving after the start of their day. Remember that you should be in the building ready to start your day at your contracted start time-not pulling into the parking lot at that time.
