A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL
Hello Corporate Landing Middle School Community,
It has been amazing to see how fast our students have gotten back into school routines and are engaged in learning here at CLMS. It has also been wonderful to meet the students in their classrooms and in the lunchroom. Teachers continue to share our school and classroom expectations with students. We ask that you have conversations with them about our school and bus expectations so that we can reinforce what is expected and your student knows that we have a home/school connection regarding expectations. Teachers will be sharing more about school expectations at our Back to School Night.
Please join us.... On September 23, 2021we will be hosting our Virtual Back to School Night from 5:30-7:30. Information can be found below regarding the schedule, how to prepare, and how to find links to your student's teachers live webcams.
Have an awesome day,
RV Yoshida

TRANSPORTATION, PICKUP AND DROPOFF
Thank you for your patience with arrival, dismissal and transportation. Students are leaving the building near expected times with the exception of a couple of busses who are currently driving two routes to bring students to school or home in the afternoon. If you have concerns regarding transportation, the dispatch number is 263-1545 during regular hours and 263-2949 after hours. You can also email questions to VBCPSBusStop at: VBCPSBusStop@VBSchools.com. Please know our office and transportation are working together to make this a positive experience for our students and parents and are always keeping safety as a top priority when considering who to transport our students.
Don't forget to download the app to track your child's bus. Info can be found at the VBCPS transportation webpage.
Concerns about increased volume of our parent drop off and pick up have also been share with our office. We need your help to make drop off and pick up run as smoothly as possible. Most of our teachers and staff do not start their workday until 9:15 am. Please do not drop students off before 9:15 because we are unable to provide supervision until then. At 9:15 am we will open doors to students who were dropped off for breakfast in the cafeteria.
We ask that parents not call for students to come to the security desk for pickup anytime after 3:45 in the afternoon. We have seen unsafe congestion in the parking lot with parents in the pick up line at the same time as parents are parking to pick students up. it is also a safety concern with students walking in front of or past moving vehicles during dismissal. On an average day, parent pickup in the afternoon is complete in under 10 minutes despite the appearance of the long line. We ask that all parents picking students up after 3:45 do so by joining the parent pickup line. If you have an appointment scheduled near dismissal time, we suggest you pick up your child prior to 3:45. We do understand that emergencies arise, but please help us improve arrival and dismissal by following the guidelines above.
Thank you,
RV Yoshida
Principal

Here are three dress code reminders for all grades and all genders:
Remove hats and hoodies in school

INTERNET SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES!
The Internet Assistance Program will provide qualifying families either a $10 subsidy paid directly to a family’s Cox Communications account or a hotspot if the family cannot receive internet services through Cox Communications. To qualify, families must be enrolled in an approved government assistance program (SNAP, TANF, NSLP, WIC, Head Start, LIHEAP, or Public Housing) or have a demonstrated need for internet access support. The vetting of internet support requests will no longer be completed at the school level but will now be completed by DOT. In addition to vetting all requests, DOT staff will also coordinate the distribution of the hotspots and management of the Cox subsidies.
If students or families have questions regarding the program, they can reference the information provided online, or call the Customer Support Center at (757) 263-1111.
