What are Macromelecules?
Macromolecules is a molecule containing a very large amount of atoms like proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids.
Protein
Protein is made to build and repair tissue in your body. Hair and nails is mostly made out of protein. It also make Enzymes and hormones. A special trait that protein has is that it is covalent.
Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates give the body energy. Simple carbohydrates include sucrose, lactose, fructose, and glucose. A special trait that carbohydrates have is that is usually ends in "ose".
Lipids
Lipids store energy inside the body. Lipids are an important part of the cell membrane. A special trait that lipids have are that they are non-polar.
Nucleic acids
Nucleic acids are biopolymers that are essential for all forms of life. Nucleic acids also include DNA. A special trait about Nucleic acids is that they are found at the nucleus of every cell.
