The Class of 2019 Wise Owls are a group of students selected by the College of Public Health as pioneers to help freshmen adjust to the academic lifestyle of college. By utilizing the various resources available, students will gain confidence in their abilities to success both in and out of the classroom.

Meet Kris Scott:
Kris Scott is an Academic Advisor for the Nursing Department here at Temple University. He brings a wide range of experience to the College of Public Health Staff as he originally came to Temple University as a Financial Aid Counselor, and previously served as the Manager of Student Success Services at a national non-profit known as the Graduate! Network. While earning his Masters Degree at the University of Delaware, Kris started Advising students at the University. He then continued Advising a diverse range of student at the Graduate! Network, before coming to Temple University where he enjoys working with the Nursing Department. Kris earned his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Maryland College Park.

Feeling a little overwhelmed by some of your classes? Thinking about who can write you a letter of recommendation? Stop by and see your professor in office hours! It's a great way to make a good first impression and to get to know your professor. If your availability does not match up with your professor, try to either meet up before class or make an appointment. It is definitely time well spent!
