A Monthly Communication to Madison Families
Dear Madison Families,
Since our last newsletter, we have welcomed fourth and fifth grade students back into the building. It is so wonderful to see classrooms, learning spaces, and hallways occupied by students again!
We have also welcomed two new staff members to the Madison community. Oriana LoCicero is Madison’s family liaison and Alexandra Lopez, is our new Health Room Assistant. We also want to welcome Katherine Green, guest teacher for Mrs. Bassett, Azucena Zavala-Montalvo, fifth grade teacher, and Ana Casillas-Sanchez and Elizabeth Resinos-Gonzalez, both of whom will be completing their student teaching internship at Madison. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome to this great Madison community.
The majority of this newsletter will focus on the awesome happenings that have been taking place at Madison. We are so grateful for the supportive community of students, families, and staff members that come together to make Madison an awesome place for students.
We wish you a healthy and happy spring!
Mr. Juan Gaona

If your child has a pre-existing condition that is going to cause COVID like symptoms (chronic headaches, chronic allergies, etc.), please contact Lauri Miller (firstname.lastname@example.org), the school nurse to report that condition. Knowing about the condition before your child begins to display a COVID like symptom may reduce the amount of time that your child needs to spend out of school.
With the collaboration of many Madison staff members and the Madison PTO, Madison hosted three community events over the last several months for Mount Vernon school district students and families. Children’s clothing, adult clothing, shoes, books, food, hand sanitizer, and face masks were given away to families who attended each of the events. In addition to the give ways, the Madison PTO sold Wildcat spirit gear, and Mrs. Campbell hosted a hybrid book fair.
A special thank you to the following people for making these events possible:
Francisco Gonzalez, Laura Rodriguez, Alexis Suazo, Traci Gromus, Melissa Brackenreed, Galit Shilo, Ann Klitzke and the Madison PTO. These events made a huge difference to many families.
