Next Friday, September 10 is the first scheduled SIP Day in District 41. On eight SIP Days throughout the year, students in 1st through 8th grade will have early dismissal at 11:30 a.m. to allow time for building staff members to work on school improvement activities. Kindergarten students will not attend school on SIP Days. September 10th, AM Pre-K students WILL attend school on this SIP Day from 8:15 a.m - 10:45 a.m. at Forest Glen. PM Pre-K will NOT have school on September 10. For the full list of 2021-22 SIP Day dates and the Pre-K SIP Day attendance times calendar CLICK HERE.

*Please note: A phone upgrade will take place on September 10 at 1 p.m. after students have cleared the building and the SIP day afternoon has started. There will be a brief period where district phones will be down. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

COVID-19 Dashboard

District 41 has created a dashboard as a way for the public to monitor both the number of positive covid cases reported for students and staff as well as the number of people quarantined in the district due to close contact with someone who has tested positive. The dashboard will be updated every Monday by the end of the day.

Governor’s Orders

The indoor masking order, statewide, began this week, and the requirement for educational employees to start their COVID-19 vaccine regimen begins September 5. All educational employees must get a COVID-19 vaccination or submit to testing weekly (or more frequently if ordered by the local health department).

Help Wanted at District 41

There are a number of job opportunities across the District. If you or someone you know is looking for work, please visit our vacancies web page today. Currently, District 41 is searching for classroom aides and substitutes as well as lunchroom help, technology assistance and more.

Voluntary Weekly COVID-19 Testing at School for Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Sign Up Now

District 41 will be offering voluntary COVID-19 saliva screening tests this school year for both unvaccinated and vaccinated students and staff starting the week of September 13. The screening tests will be provided and administered once a week at school through the SHIELD Illinois program at no cost to the district.

If you would like your child/ren to participate, please complete the "Voluntary Covid-19 Testing Consent Form" in Skyward. Participants will be included in testing the following week after sign up. If you have already filled out the form or do not want to participate, you do not need to take further action.

Student Data Privacy

District 41 has been exploring ways to gather usage data on the EdTech tools used in the district, and monitor student data privacy in a way that will efficiently and effectively bring the information to one place. Thanks to a partnership with LearnPlatform, District 41 is providing a tool to our staff to not only gather data to identify the usage of resources, but to identify the effectiveness and fidelity of the tools for student learning while ensuring that your child’s data privacy is maintained.

This tool comes with a few other features that the district will begin using, including a public library of resources approved for use in the district. This public library offers you a centralized location to review edtech tools approved for use and are SOPPA compliant.

To access the public library, please visit the Technology Department on the District’s website: https://www.d41.org/Domain/1158

Finally, this tool will provide our district with data to make decisions on the impact they are having on student success, which will assist our district to make more informed decisions to renew or discontinue use of particular online tools.

Thank you for your continued support of our schools and the students we serve.
