Introducing Joy & Jason Rudolph
Our New EYC Directors (Episcopal Young Christians)
Introducing Joy & Jason Rudolph: The Cathedral's New EYC Directors
Jason and Joy Rudolph attended the Cathedral’s 6pm service in June of 2018 and felt as though they were "finally home." The liturgy and Church Calendar have reinvigorated their faith as adults. They also appreciate the open arms of Cathedral parishioners and the solid theology of the church leaders. They have shared in the leadership of Josh and Mindy Bales’ Wednesday night small group and, this past year, led a small group of their own.
Jason is the General Manager of Chipotle UCF (one of the busiest locations in the country) and Joy owns her own Virtual Assisting business (http://www.jbrvirtualassisting.com). They feel called to use their gifts and passions at the Cathedral, particularly in making disciples who go on to make other disciples. Passionate about sharing the Gospel as well as making sure outsiders feel welcome, the Rudolphs are excited to bring this giftedness and sense of call to their work with our Cathedral youth.
Jason grew up in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and describes his youth ministry experience as "a bit too focused on the fun and games of youth ministry." Looking back, he wishes there had been more biblical teaching to ground him in the Christian faith. Joy grew up in a Pentecostal church and loved her youth group experience, even though her theology is somewhat different these days.
Jason has a B.A. in Christian Education from Wheaton College, and a Masters in Management from the University of Phoenix. Joy has a B.S. in Church Leadership from Southeastern University. They have accepted the position of Youth (EYC) Directors and will begin serving in this role September 1st, 2019.
As the Rudolphs take on this new role, the Cathedral would like to recognize, with extreme gratitude, the hard work of Traci Barber. Traci has done a phenomenal job leading the EYC this past year and has agreed to continue assisting in EYC leadership, specifically coordinating the EYC-sponsored monthly Fellowship Breakfasts.
Please help us welcome the Rudolphs!
The Rev. Canon Josh Bales
