Week of October 2nd - 6th
Reminders
This Week...
- Monday, October 2nd - Wear Blue! World Day of Bullying. Wear blue to show solidarity in stopping bullying.
- Monday, October 2nd - Field Trip Permission forms coming home.
- Wednesday, Oct. 4th - Picture Day
Field Trip
- We will be taking a field trip to Mike's Farm on Wednesday, October 25th.
- Permission slips will come home on October 2nd.
General
- Please check and sign your child's agenda nightly.
- Students must bring agendas and take home folders to and from school everyday.
- Whenever there is a transportation change it MUST be hand written in their agenda.
- Library- Please make sure your child brings their library books back to exchange for new books.
- Please bring in a snack and water bottle daily.
- When your class starts bringing iPad home, please make sure you charge them nightly and return them to school each day.
- Excuse notes must be submitted within 2 days of your child's return to school.
- If your child is absent for sickness or a trip, they will receive missed work when they return to school. This is a schoolwide policy.
Homework
- Reading activity
- Math pages 7-12
- All Homework activities will be sent home on at the beginning of the week and will be due on Friday.
What we are learning...
ELA
We will be learning about how we ask and answer questions about stories. We will learn about text organization and content words in a story.
***Our Social Studies connections will be communities. We will identify the different types of communities from our stories.
Math
We will learn about subtraction strategies. We will work on counting back and counting on to sub.
The homework for this week will be focused on the addition skills we learned last week.
Fundations
We will continue working on tapping out cvc words. Our new focus will be digraphs. Example: ch, sh, th, ck, wh

Money can be added to students accts. by using the linq app (student number will be needed).
If you send in (cash/check) with your child, please put it in a zip-lock bag with their name on it.
