Principal Newsletter

From the Desk of Mrs. Riley

January 11, 2019

Dear Parents,

As the New Year commences and we begin the second half of the school year, we have much to look forward to! In just two weeks, we will begin the annual celebration of Catholic Schools Week! There is a great deal planned for this truly exciting time! Please look to next week's newsletter for the week's agenda.

Registration for the 2019-2020 school year is now open to both new and returning families. Please look for the release of next school year's tuition rates during Catholic Schools Week. Early registration is key in our planning for next years class sizes. I also encourage all of our school families to file a BLOCS application through FACTS management for next school year. Please refer to the exciting news that we have shared below!

Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!

Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.

God’s Peace,

Mrs. Barbara Riley

Principal

Re-Registration 2019-2020/New Family Registration

Thank you for choosing Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School and Catholic Education for your children! Re-registration of current school families for the 2019-2020 School Year is still open as well as registration of new families.

In order to re-register, families must be up to date on current tuition payments. We ask that you please fill out the Re-registration Form accordingly and return it to school along with payment in an envelope marked “Re-registration.” Please know that forms will not be accepted and students will not be considered registered unless payment is included.

If you have any questions or need to discuss current tuition circumstances, please feel free to contact the Principal or Business Manager. Once again, we thank you for the continued sacrifices you make to send your children to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.

BLOCS - Exciting Announcement Additional Funding Awarded to OLGC

Special Announcement – Additional Tuition Funds Available to OLGC from The Foundation for Catholic Education

We are excited to announce that The Foundation for Catholic Education has informed us that several OLGC parishioners applied and have been approved for the SPE Program – Special Purpose Entity. This allowed them to participate in the EITC Program, whereby they can now redirect their state tax dollars directly to Our Lady Good of Counsel School. As a result, this has now greatly increased the amount of tuition funds available for school families that apply and are approved for BLOCS for the 2019-2020 School Year.

We highly encourage everyone to apply for BLOCS tuition grants via Facts (Application found HERE). The minimum income threshold for a family with one child is $100,000 and that amount increases by $15,000 for every additional child that attends our school. In order to be considered for this grant you must apply and be approved.

Facts is the third party administrator that processes and reviews your financial information in order to determine eligibility. This is a strict confidential process and we only receive a confirmation of whether or not a family is approved. We are so very grateful to the parishioners who participated and are now providing additional tuition grants for our school families. Participation in the SPE Program is available to everyone not just businesses. If you or anyone you know is interested in participating in the SPE Program, please review the information HERE or contact the School Office if you would like to speak to someone that has been a part of this program.
