09/16/2019

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Last week finally felt like things are falling into place and into a routine! It was definitely a busy week and one that kept us on our toes! As I walk the hallways on our campus- I am reminded of how blessed I am to work alongside our staff and with your children! Please let me know how I can be of service and how I can support you.

Please, open emails from Peach Jar to stay informed of campus and district information. On Tuesday’s an HPES folder will be sent home with flyers and information. Please be sure to look out for the folder on Tuesday’s. Additionally, please sign-up for our mailing list at You will receive a monthly campus newsletter through the mailing list. You can also find a copy of a newsletter like this one in our campus webpage under “Principal’s blog”

BackPack Pfriends

BackPack Pfriends is a partnership between several churches, volunteer groups, and civic organizations to help meet the needs of students in Highland Park Elementary. DELL currently sponsors HPES and delivers food on Friday for students to take home.

Teachers nominate students that could benefit from having additional food sent home on Friday's. Our counselor will contact families and organize distributions. Students who participated last year will automatically receive a parent permission letter this school year.

Teacher & Staff Member of the Month

We have amazing staff at HPES, and we want to recognize them! Beginning this month, we will recognize a Teacher & Staff Member of the Month! Both will receive the following:

  • Lunch provided plus and extra 30 minutes covered
  • 1 week of jeans
  • Recognition on our morning announcements, campus facebook, marquee and hallway bulletin board. So happy to brag about our fabulous staff!

Remember...

  • Students may wear a college shirt on Wednesdays and a school spirit shirt on Fridays
  • The first Tuesday of every month, is our first school-wide TUTU/TIE day. What do you do? Simply wear a tutu over your clothes or a fancy tie and join the school-wide spirit! Every first Tuesday of the month is tutu/tie day at HPES!
  • Tardy bell rings at 7:35, with announcements starting promptly at 7:40. Traffic is hectic during morning drop-off, please plan accordingly.

Great things are happening at HPES!

PTO

This year PTO would like to support a school-wide initiative. They will work hard to promote this initiative during our Boosterthon Fun Run and other fundraising events. During our last PTO meeting- PTO determined the funds earned from Boosterthon this year will go towards technology for students and staff! THANK-YOU PTO!

Please join our Next PTO meeting on October 9, 2019, at 6:30 p.m!
