Progress Report Notification Happening Tuesday morning!
Friday, November 7, was the end of the three weeks.
All grades for work assigned through Friday, November 7, are due in gradebook by 4 pm, Monday, November 10. Do not change these grades again for 48 hours. We will be sending a notification to parents to check these grades on Tuesday, November 11.
A failure report will be run by Tyra on Tuesday at 7:30 am. Remember, students can not lose eligibility but they can regain it Friday if they are passing everything.
If a student has an incomplete, all work must be made up per the district grading policy. You should indicate "I" in the grade book if they have an incomplete. Incompletes should only be used in the case that a student was absent for an excused reason (like sick or doctor's appointment) and they still have time to turn in the work according to the district grading policy.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Great season volleyball teams! We lost to a really good senior-led Poth HS volleyball team on Saturday, but we fought hard! Kudos to Coach Hansen and the girls!
Tech News from Randy!
Reflector is software on your computer that allows you to project any iPad. It is great for instructing students on how to do something on an iPad or for group presentations. The exciting news is that we have bought it and we will be installing the software on your computers soon.
The first step will be for us to push out the software to your computers, then I will have a training on how to use it in your classrooms.
If you want to learn more just visit Reflector.
Focus is up and running. If you need any students moved or need and App added to the "Focus-able" list either email me or follow the link below.
I would love to help out and come support you in your wildest class to make sure it works well.
What do the students think?
Here is a link to all of the responses.
Feel free to come share with me you opinions and ideas on how things are going thus far. We are always looking for ways to make things better for teachers.

Snapshots due soon!
Here is the fine print:
Expectations for EACH Course:
1 Snapshot (in Word)
1 Unit Organizer for Each Unit (in Word)
The unit organizers are typically due one week after the end of the 9 weeks. So, the unit organizers for this first 9 weeks would normally be due today. Since it was a busy beginning with a lot of transition, let's set the due date for the first 9 week's unit organizers for November 17th. Please do not stress yourself over this...talk to me. We'll figure it out together.
Where can I access last year's documents?
All documents that were created last year are located here. The organization is not great due to the varied naming conventions, so if you are looking for something specific and can't find it, let me know.
Are there good places to look for inspiration?
Where can I find the Snapshot template?
The snapshot templates in Word are located here.
Where can I find the Unit Organizer templates?
The updated unit organizer templates in Word with check boxes are located here. There are instructions on how to "unlock" the forms if you need to. If you want a plain version of the template without checkboxes, it is located here.
What do I do when I'm done with my documents? How do I submit them?
Once you are done with your template for a unit, save your document here. Remember: no Google docs...Word only!
How should I name my documents (so we don't have 120 Unit 1s)?
Naming conventions will be very easy. Yes, please put spaces in the document name, just like below:
Grade # Subject Snapshot
Grade 4 Math Snapshot
Grade 1 Reading Snapshot
Grade # Subject Unit #
Grade 4 Math Unit 1
Grade 1 Reading Unit 9
What if I did an awesome job last year and don't have any changes to make?
The only change you would need on your unit organizers is the inclusion of the ELPS checklist at the bottom. I included an unlocked version in Word that you can copy and paste.
