Math 6/ Honors 6 News
This week we introduced an online component of our curriculum called Mathia. Please encourage your student to work through the modules at home. The skills reviewed match our classroom objectives and this will be a great tool to use to study, review, and solidify your student’s math learning. Plus, they get to play with an avatar!
Honors Math 6 wrapped up our Walk the Line Unit and will have a quiz over Chapters 12 and 13.1 on Tuesday, February 23.
Math 6 will continue their study of integer addition and subtraction.
As we start the next six weeks, please encourage your student to keep up with their math assignments and Practice Sheets. Dropping in to tutorials for extra help is always an option!
ELA News
6th grade ELA continues with book club; our second meeting was Thursday. Students are in the process of writing a book review over one of the novels we read in class or over one of their reading workshop books.
History
Students learned the different factors that influence developing and industrialized countries.
PACE
Students will plan solutions and prepare presentations for their world conflicts. All PACE students should have received their copy of Snow Falling in Spring. We will discuss the book the week before Spring Break.
World Wear Project -
Be a part of diverting thousands of pounds of shoes and clothing from local landfills by filling our shoes and clothing donation bin with your gently used shoes, clothing, purses, belts, wallets, hats, caps, backpacks, hard toys, stuffed animals, and pots and pans.
Frankford has partnered with the World Wear Project. For every pound collected, our PTA receives $0.15. The benefit to you? Neater closets, drawers, toy boxes, and kitchens, and the knowledge that less textile waste will end up in our local landfills. Our World Wear Project donation box is located in the parking lot by the gym.
