Week of February 3-7, 2020
A Note From Mrs. Garrison
Next week is National Counselor's Week. We are fortunate to have Shawn Nixon here at Powell. She works tirelessly for our students, staff and families!
We’re less than ONE WEEK AWAY from kicking off the Powell Boosterthon Fun Run. Boosterthon combines a fun character education program with a fundraising event. This year, our goal is to raise $30,000 for technology, field trips, and school enhancements. Please begin thinking about friends and family who would be willing to support your child and our school. The schedule of events and run times are listed below:
- Wednesday, February 5th: Student Pep Rally and Pledge Books go home
- Wednesday, February 5th - Friday, February 14th: Gather pledges and enter them on https://funrun.boosterthon.com/v3.
- Friday, February 14th: Every student will participate in the Fun Run. Join us to cheer on your child!
To get a jump start on our program, PLEDGING IS NOW OPEN! Register online at https://funrun.boosterthon.com/v3 and start getting pledges!

Pre K for the 2020-2021 School Year
Conroe ISD will be expanding all current half-day prekindergarten programs to full day in the 2020-21 school year. Currently, Houser and Houston Elementary Schools are the only campuses to operate full-day prekindergarten programs. The expansion is in response to the House Bill 3 requirement that all prekindergarten programs operate as full-day programs. Registration for the 2020-21 school year will take place April 20-24. Eligibility determination and enrollment will take place at the elementary school to which the student is zoned. Please visit www.conroeisd.net/ci/early-childhood/ for more information.
