TEA Fall Guidance & Asynchronous Instruction

Starting Strong in 2020 - 2021

As you know, COVID 19 continues to impact Texas on multiple fronts. As you begin to gear up for the new school year, we'd like to keep you up-to-date on the decisions faced by our districts and families.

We also want to assure you that Region 7 is here to support you as you navigate through changing times. That being said, we need to hear from you regarding the type of support you need from Region 7. At the end of this newsletter, you will find a link to a survey that will help us bring the trainings offered into alignment with your needs.

What Do You Need to Know?

As you have undoubtedly heard, families may choose remote or in person instruction. So how do districts prepare for both instructional models?

TEA has made it very clear that remote learning in the Fall of 2020 will look and feel very different from that of Spring of 2020. What does that mean exactly?

The responses to both questions are complicated and best explained by TEA. Start by reading through TEA's Overview of Remote Instruction Guidance. Pay close attention to ADA funding requirements and the asynchronous Instruction model for PK - 2nd. Click the link below.
