Message from our Director
Dear Parents,
Last week we had a wonderful History Fair represented by the 7th graders and 8th graders. Ms. Taylor did a wonderful job putting this event together and making this an interactive silent museum for the Elementary students in the afternoon.
We had a successful literacy week and particularly, literacy. There were many activities that the teachers prepared for students to come and participate in. Students were able to fill out a passport as they joined in on different activities, then cashed it in the next day for a dress down day. Our literacy committee and teachers went above and beyond in preparing for and implementing the week's activities.
We are also beginning the process of writing our Children's Land Trust Grant. Utah has a great deal of property that is owned by the federal government. Because of this, there is not an opportunity for property taxes to be collected to help the schools. The federal government kicks back profits from leases and other uses of the property to the Children's Land Trust. For more information please check the following link. http://www.schoollandtrust.org/
As we are in the month of March, it is easy to get a little restless with "spring fever". We ask that you continually remind the students to continue to follow the school policies of dress code, healthy snacks and grace and courtesy to one another. We have such great students that truly exhibit so many leadership traits, that we want them to continue being great examples to their peers.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Mr. Mike

Famous Montessorians
Dakota Fannig
This youngest-ever Screen Actors Award nominee and the youngest Academy member, recalls: “I learned to read at two..in a Montessori school where they teach you to read really, really young. Montessori kids are not technically taught to read but they work at their own pace in age-diverse groups – not in curriculum-dictated lockstep with same-age peers." For Fanning, autonomy led to early achievement throughout her life. - Montessori.org.uk
