Opening Thoughts...

Dear Harmon Family,

17.5 days of school left! To quote a famous educator we all know and love "WE GOT THIS!"

I hope your week was a good one - EOCs are complete and now we! Thank you for all the hard work you put into preparing our students for the exams! This week is Advanced Placement exams - Good luck AP teachers and students - you're up!

ReLay for Life is this Friday from 6:00 pm - 12:00 pm at Harmon. If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact Ms. Andia or Mr. Willi.

Please continue to push our expectations on the students, continue to provide engaging learning experiences, and continue to have fun!

Somewhere near the water, sand and palm trees.

What is your biggest fear?

Something happening to my kids.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life. What would it be?

List 1 pet peeve?

A lack of common courtesy.

What song would you sing at Karaoke night?

That will never happen, but just for giggles, Banana Pancakes.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

I’ll think about that when they make the movie…

Do you collect anything?

Sweet notes from students.

If you could take three items with you to a deserted island, what would they be?

Appearances can be deceiving.

Help connect our school world with the community!

I have been trying to think of a way to reach as many of our students as possible with book titles, recommendations and reviews, and this seems like one good way to do it.

If you would share the #FarmersRead with your students and, I hope, use the hashtag yourself to Tweet out what you are reading, I think it could be effective.

#BHarmonNow is the Twitter hashtag that you use to connect the great things you are doing with your colleagues and students in and out of your classroom with our community. This hashtag will create a story of all the amazing things you (we) do on a daily basis! I hope you will use the new hashtag; if you do, everyone will be in the loop of all the fun and great things taking place around our campus!

Please do not forget to use the #HarmonPL if and when you are on Twitter and you view great information that relates to strong instructional practices, content, inspirational, etc...if you think others would like to see it - tag it using the # to share with the rest of our staff. Using #HarmonPL builds an electronic professional learning library for all of us!

Active monitoring and supervision...

I cannot express to you enough how important it is for everyone to be in the halls and at your doors during passing periods! Your presence deters a lot of activity and I thank you for being diligent about being visible and moving students along to where they need to be...class, cafeteria, the library, wherever...but they need to be getting there. During class, please be sure students are using your hall passes for when they leave class.
