Jefferson Elementary School Building Project
June 19, 2018
Henderson County Schools is pleased to announce that Jefferson Elementary School will be the next major Investing in Excellence construction project.
Architects for the project were interviewed at the June 18th Special Board of Education meeting and the final selection will be made at the June 25th Regular Board of Education meeting.
Jefferson Elementary School was built in 1964 with renovations occurring in 1994.
“Aging school buildings can create challenges for 21st century instruction, curriculum, and student learning. We are looking forward to a modern and progressive design for Jefferson Elementary School, which will include learning labs, spaces for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) education, an energy-efficient design, and a safe learning environment for our students,” states Marganna Stanley, Superintendent of Henderson County Schools.
Additional updates and announcements about the new Jefferson Elementary School project will be shared on the school district website and via Henderson County Schools’ social media sites.
