From the Principal
We are already two full weeks into the school year. Students are beginning to develop a routine, technology platforms are being unlocked, and fall sports have begun! Attending school during a pandemic has created learning pathways and circumstances that are new to students, parents and teachers. Patrons are encouraged to continue to reference MSD Warren's S.A.F.E Reopening Plan with questions regarding safety guidelines and protocols. You may contact teachers, counselors or grade level administrators with questions regarding class content or access. The main school line must be used to contact teachers, (317) 532-8902. Counselors and administrators may be dialed directly using contact information at the bottom of the newsletter.
Attendance is an area where processes are being developed to account for virtual and in-person learners. In-person learners in grades 6, 7 and 8 should complete an exit ticket for classes on their application day that will provide the teacher with a check for understanding as well as serve as an attendance marker for that class.
MSD Warren's new Synergy student information system allows parents and caregivers greater access to student records through the ParentVue parent portal. We are aware that that at his time some students’ attendance records are reflecting students are absent, when in fact they were present. This is mostly the case for our students who are attending school VIRTUALLY on application days or in the VIRTUAL option full-time. We want to assure you that teachers are keeping accurate attendance records and that we are working to correct attendance records for all our students.
Virtual Instructional Guide and Weeks At-A-Glance. We have heard from our parents that the VIRTUAL schedule can be confusing for our students. In response to this feedback, we are designating specific days to our Black and Gold Cohort students in grades K-6th grade. Starting on Monday, August 24, 2020, students will follow the schedule below. *On shortened school weeks, there will not be an Friday Academic Enrichment Friday.
Black Cohort (A-K) Grades 2-6
Mondays and Wednesdays: Direct Instruction Day
Tuesday and Thursdays: Application Day
Gold Cohort (L-Z ) Grades 2-6
Tuesdays and Thursdays: Direct Instruction Day
Monday and Wednesday: Application Day
Black Cohort and Gold Cohort Grades 2-6
Fridays: Academic Enrichment Days
Friday Academic Enrichment Days are designed to ensure there is more feedback and attention to student needs as well as creating increased opportunities for student and family support. Student experiences on Friday Academic Enrichment Day will include a playlist; however, will provide more opportunities for enrichment, reflection and targeted supports for students. Please visit MSD Warren’s Virtual Instructional Guide and Weeks At-A-Glance to learn more.

Thank you in advance for your consideration to participate. If each student's parent or caregiver purchases at least one item, the amount of money generated for the PTSA will go far in helping them achieve their goals of supporting RP students and staff. Learn more about the RPIMS PTSA on facebook.
Finally, a calendar of black and gold schedule days for in-person students is provided below to help families keep track of their weekly schedule. This week, the black schedule will be run on M-W-F, and the gold schedule will be run on T-Th.
