Fire Drill Completed!
Today's fire drill went exceptionally well. The staff was able to discuss what we do in the case of an emergency and why we would take those precautions. The staff and students were excellent!

EARTH DAY: Earth Day is today! In support of this day, we are planning an impromptu cleanup day of Spencer grounds on Saturday 4/23 from 9am-12pm. The playground and outdoor classroom could both use some love. Grab a rake, broom, and garbage bags and meet us at 9am Saturday! If you have an NJHS or NHS student in need of hours, we will have signed volunteer slips for them.
AUCTION/CARNIVAL: Student Auction/Carnival packets should have come home this week! All the information you will need to navigate the week leading up to and including the day of the Auction and Carnival is in there! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
We will need TONS of help to make this event a success! This is the perfect opportunity for older siblings and grandparents to help out while you shop! You can also volunteer for a slot and still have time to shop. All Auction and Carnival volunteer spots are here.
We will also have our normal Treat Walk station! We are seeking treats for this particular game. Sweet treats, salty treats, small toys, etc. are all welcome! Treats should all be dropped off on Friday at the school, preferably during set-up Friday evening, between 4-7pm. Treat Walk signup genius is here.
We are still looking for donations! I have extended the deadline for donations to April 29th! If you are interested in donating anything, please drop it off at the office by next Friday! Anything goes (except alcohol!). Gift cards/certificates to your favorite store or restaurant, handmade items, passes to museums, tickets to concerts, etc. - we will gladly accept anything you are willing to give.
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK: Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week of May! We have some special things planned for each day to show our teachers and staff how wonderful we think they are. This is another opportunity to help out! We are looking for donations of different types for each day's events, as well as volunteers to help with the events each day. If you would like to see where you can help, please check out the signup genius here!

Note From the Counselor
Counselor Corner!
Welcome back from break, here in the final stretch of the year! We hope the month of April brings us some warmer weather and time outside. This month, we will be providing classroom lessons on the topic of Wellness. We will focus on creating a healthy body and mindset as well as promoting wellness within ourselves. Students will be asked to reflect on their choices that make them stronger as learners as well as humans! We would like to encourage you to continue conversations at home about the things that help us all grow with our mindset and skills to make us healthy and happy.
The Elementary Counselor Team also has the BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home! Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns that you may have, and we will do our best to support your child.
