Dr. Seuss Day is on Thursday March 1st!

Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on 2 March 1904. Better known as beloved author Dr. Seuss, he is responsible for creating some of our most cherished childhood literary characters like the Grinch, the Cat in the Hat, Horton, and the Lorax. We celebrate his contribution to literature and childhood imagination every year. Since we will be out of school on March 2nd, we get to celebrate a day early on March 1st.

Students can dress up like their favorite Dr. Seuss character!

Principal Kolb will be reading her favorite Dr. Seuss books to all of the kindergarten through third grade classes!

February was Black History Month!

HSA Garland observed Black History Month this year by focusing on the many heroes in our shared history.

From kindergarten to 6th grade, our students were given opportunities to learn all about American heroes like Dorie Miller, Zora Neal Hurston, Muhammad Ali, Katherine Dunham, Martin Luther King Jr., Maya Angelou, and many more. Check out our 6th grade social studies projects below!
