Message from Dr. Yearby
Dear Parents,
Please join me in celebrating our 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Amanda Herrington! Amanda has been a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate teacher for the last 18 years with 5 of those being right here at Mulberry. She's a leader in our building and we know she will represent Mulberry well!
I'm also sharing the Local School Plan for Improvement again in this week's Messenger in case you didn't get a chance to review and/or provide feedback last week.
Last week's message read: As we continue to look for ways to improve, I wanted to share with you a draft of our Local School Plan for Improvement (LSPI). The 5 goals outlined within the LSPI directly support the GCPS vision of supportive community and academic press. Through these goals you will notice that we are looking to support our students, staff, families, and communities through a variety of ways; academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.
Please take a moment to review the LSPI and then complete the google form if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or general feedback. We want this to be an opportunity where your voice is heard and where your input is seen through our plan.
I hope you enjoy this long weekend, and we look forward to seeing our Falcons return on Tuesday, September 6th!
Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Mandy Yearby

Common Formative Assessments in GCPS
Throughout the school year, teachers use formative assessments as “check-ins” on student learning. The information allows teachers to know which standards students have mastered and which standards need additional teaching. Following these check-ins, teachers will provide additional opportunities for learning through small group instruction prior to the summative assessment. The district Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) are a category in the grade book at 5% for 1st-5th, however, this grade may be adjusted throughout the semester as students master standards.
Order your Activity/Field Day Shirts!
It's Picture time!
Fall pictures are Thursday, September 8th!
Parents, you should have received an email from Jostens on how to preview and pay for your pictures.
